Scholarly Publishing, Copyright, and Permissions
Hobo Archive, under the University of Iowa, provides copies of materials to facilitate public and private study, scholarship, or research on the organized subculture of the U.S. transient workforce. Certain images or materials may be protected by public domain, copyright law, fair use, or other interests not owned by the University of Iowa. Most photocopied or scanned material is subject always to donor restrictions, copyright law, and the condition of the material. Items that are digitally housed in Hobo Archive, including unpublished images and manuscripts, may be protected by copyright, publication rights, trademarks, or model release rights which the archive does not own and for which the University of Iowa cannot grant permission or licensing. Materials currently under copyright are usually still available for research and limited reproduction under Fair Use laws.
