Scholarly Publishing, Copyright, and Permissions

Hobo Archive, under the University of Iowa, provides copies of materials to facilitate public and private study, scholarship, or research on the organized subculture of the U.S. transient workforce. Certain images or materials may be protected by public domain, copyright law, fair use, or other interests not owned by the University of Iowa. Most  photocopied or scanned material is subject always to donor restrictions, copyright law, and the condition of the material. Items that are digitally housed in Hobo Archive, including unpublished images and manuscripts, may be protected by copyright, publication rights, trademarks, or model release rights which the archive does not own and for which the University of Iowa cannot grant permission or licensing. Materials currently under copyright are usually still available for research and limited reproduction under Fair Use laws. Specific contacts to reach for permission to reproduce are either Minneapolis Skinny or Laura Carpenter.

When you use this material, you must properly acknowledge Hobo Archive and the University of Iowa as the source. You also must not use materials in Hobo Archive in any manner that inaccurately implies an association between you and the materials, or that incorrectly implies any sponsorship or endorsement by Hobo Archive, the University of Iowa, or any third-party rights holder.
